Element Swapper

This project was made in a few days as a submission for the GamesJobLive Game Parade (https://itch.io/jam/gjl-game-parade-spring-2021) in March 2021.

Made with a partner in a 2 person team in the span of a few days, we sought to embody the jam's theme of "Strength in Differences" via the implementation of an element swapping mechanic in a fast-paced arcade game. Elemental Swapper is an endless side-scroller, tasking you with surviving space as long as possible whilst avoiding asteroids, gates, bullets and hostile lifeforms. As you play, you can attune between three elements at will, changing the way in which certain gameplay elements behave:

1.  Red/Fire - Increased damage against Green enemies, reduced damage against Blue enemies, increased damage from Blue bullets, heal from Red bullets, pass through Red gates.
2.  Blue/Water - Increased damage against Red enemies, reduced damage against Green enemies, increased damage from Green bullets, heal from Blue bullets, pass through Blue gates.
3.  Green/Grass - Increased damage against Blue enemies, reduced damage against Red enemies, increased damage from Red bullets, heal from Green bullets, pass through Green gates.
   

In the spirit of maintaining this project's authenticity as a submission for a quick Game Jam, I've decided against updating it with improved U.I and gameplay elements.
